The short, honest version

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026 (last updated)

Modern Mommy is a blog, not a data operation. Here's exactly what happens when you visit, written the way I'd explain it over coffee.

Who we are

Modern Mommy is an independent blog, published at https://modernmommyblog.com/. If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, email us at hello@modernmommyblog.com.

Information we collect

This site has no user accounts, no comment forms and no newsletter sign-up, so there is very little we could collect. In practice it comes down to:

  • Anonymous usage data. Standard analytics information such as which pages are visited, the type of device and browser used, and the approximate region a visit comes from (country or city level — never a precise address).
  • Your email address — only if you email us. If you write to hello@modernmommyblog.com, we receive your address and whatever you choose to include, and we use it only to reply to you.

Cookies and analytics

We use three third-party services to understand readership and measure advertising. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics 4 — traffic measurement: aggregate page views, approximate visitor regions and device types. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel — advertising measurement and audiences. The pixel that loads is selected based on your general region, and it may set cookies and share standard browsing signals with Meta. See Meta's privacy policy.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic statistics that don't track individual visitors.

These tags load lazily after the page has rendered, so they never slow down what you came here to read. Browser tracking protection, content blockers and private browsing all prevent them from loading — and the site works exactly the same without them.

Advertising and affiliate links

Many posts contain affiliate links through networks like ShopStyle Collective and similar programs. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission — the price you pay doesn't change. Some outbound links carry tracking parameters so the network can attribute the visit to this site; we don't receive any personal information about you or your purchase. Anything sponsored is clearly labeled as sponsored, and recommendations are never for sale: if something pills, digs, or runs small, we say it, commission or not.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your personal data. Ever.
  • We don't run accounts or comment forms that collect your details.
  • We don't send newsletters or marketing emails — there's nothing to sign up for.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — you have the right to ask what personal information is held about you, to request a copy of it, and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Since this site stores almost nothing, that's usually a short conversation: email hello@modernmommyblog.com and we'll help.

You can also opt out of the measurement described above at any time: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, adjust your Meta ad preferences, or use your browser's cookie controls and tracking protection.

Children's privacy

Modern Mommy is written for adults — parents, grandparents and caregivers. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email hello@modernmommyblog.com and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If how this site handles data ever changes, we'll update this page and revise the effective date at the top. No silent edits — significant changes get explained in plain English, right here.
